Life Got the Better of Me...

...and I forgot to post after the biopsy. Needless to say, it went fine, but it's been a very trying week. I'll start with the biopsy. I arrived right on time at 6:50a.m. and they were punctual taking me in - which was great b/c I had to motor to get back to school on time before my morning duty. Basically, I did my usual undress from the waist down and the doctor came in. There was slight cramping as he moved the catheter back and forth in my uterus, but the whole procedure took only 30 seconds.

As he was manouvering the catheter, I asked him about how this works if I shed my lining. He told me that for some reason the lining is sticky for the transfer. So I asked him, "if this transfer doesn't work will my lining still be sticky the next month." Apparently, I'd have to have the biopsy again...no pressure on me now - so much for having consecutive tries. It would be one month on and one month off. Ugh! Now I really need to decide how many embryos to transfer. I'm still hopeful for only one.

Anyway, it's a lot harder to fast for 3 hours in between med doses and be working than it is to fast during March Break. So, this week has been torture!!! And what's even worse, is that even though I've been only managing to eat small amounts of calories, due to the no snacking and feeling full from being bloated from these meds, I'm gaining weight...probably from the bloating.

And, call it "mood swings" catching up with me from the estrogen (still loving it though) and the progesterone, but last night I was a mess...I think it's b/c I've been cold all week in my classroom again (will spring ever arrive) and then I'm coming home to my parents' house (I miss my warm place so much and long for May when I'll be on my own again) which is also freezing...plus I'm feeling so hungry all the time and I can't even get the strength to do my morning workouts or get to the gym (although the foot injury keeps me away too), and I'm feeling pressure for this to work, even though I haven't even had my first try yet. But I'm glad that it's the weekend, and I only have 2 more days to take the progesterone.

2 more days of progesterone means I'm 2 days closer to getting to my transfer. I am hoping that AF comes mid week, b/c then I don't need to worry about Thursday being my CD3 - I need to be at work on Thursday. I'm hoping I can have my CD3 on Friday, Sat. or Sun.

Okay, it's been such a long week. I think I'm going to avoid the gym tomorrow morning - I can't do step class anyway, and I sure could use the time to rest and relax a little. It's been a very long week. Luckily next week is only 2 days for me :)

Biopsy Tomorrow

So, I haven't really updated in a while - I've been happily living my life...doing some of the things that will soon be out of my life temporarily. Plus, I'm actually LOVING these meds that I'm on.
The estrogen, those little green pills that I take three times a day, and the patch that's taped to my hip....My hair is shining and not greasy or flaky like it was during those 8 long months off the pill. My hair growth (all over me) has slowed back down to where it was when I was on the pill - totally manageable. And the prometrium (progesterone) is suppressing my appetite (not to mention that I need to fast for 3 hours each time between meals - 2 hours before taking the pill and 1 hour after. So, no more snacking for me - which is working out better than expected - I don't know if it's just that my body is adjusting, or that the pills are making me feel full longer or if it's just that I'm eating more during meals b/c I know I can't snack. But I'm down to my good weight of 98lbs - I'm hoping it lasts until I conceive b/c I'm happy to be back into my jeans that I was in last year - I can wait to go back up into the slightly bigger sizes. And when I stop the prometrium, maybe I'll be able to curve my snacking psychologically too. It's not deprivation - when I eat my meals I indulge and have dessert - it's just not over doing it.

Tomorrow morning, at 6:50am, I need to be in M. for my biopsy of my uterus - so think sticky thoughts. Apparently it's a 10 minute procedure, I'll feel a little crampy, and then be fine. I hope so, b/c then I need to motor back to school for the first day after March Break and get there in time to set up my class and have 8:45am duty. So it will be a VERY early morning and a long first day back at school.

The good news is that after tomorrow, I have one week left on the Prometrium. Then I stop and let AF come, and thus starts my transfer cycle. It's so close! I can almost taste it. Plus, the RE is going to double my estrogen - as though 2mg 3 times a day and a patch isn't enough already. But, whatever it takes to make my lining as thick and welcoming and sticky as possible!

I'll post tomorrow to let you know how the procedure went :) Fingers crossed for smooth sailing.

Enjoying my pre-transfer time

So, the OHSS is gone...tomorrow is CD10 of my current cycle...I'm getting closer and closer to my transfer! But, in the meantime, I want to take advantage of my last two months of not being pregnant. Especially b/c I'm not on those meds anymore and I've made a new best friend. Her name is ESTROGEN!!! I cannot describe how good it feels to be back on...I didn't realize how great being on the BCP was, until I stopped taking it...I hated how oily my skin and hair were...and just a couple of days into the ESTROGEN and I feel like me again! So, I'm going to relish in this new relationship until I am forced off of it, kicking and screaming.

In the meantime, I haven't had any alcohol for months and months. So, last night, I went out with an old friend. I wasn't driving...so I had two glasses of wine, even though the first one hit me pretty hard :) It was great. So much fun to relax and get silly. It's funny how I'll have a dry spell of no men in my life...and then they all come out of the woodwork at the same time. Take my friend last night. I used to refer to him as Train in my old blog. He keeps popping into my life at very unexpected times. And I always welcome him in....I think b/c I know that nothing will ever develop from it. He is more afraid of relationships than I am :) So, he's good company for me b/c I know that I won't get scared off by him. Then, a very old friend...from about 11 years ago...he continues to contact me....to persuade me to get together for a catch up....we live in completely different worlds right now. I think he has this image of who I used to be etched in his mind...but I'm not that girl anymore. We'll see what happens there.

Tomorrow morning I have my CD10 u/s and b/w. I guess it's only a little bit longer until my biopsy, visit from AF and counting down the days until my first FET...before I tackle those things, I need to finish packing, and temporarily move in with the folks until my new place is ready....how in the world will that be stress free? It will all work out.
