It's been an interesting couple of days. And I need to make this short b/c my report cards are due in 4 days and I have so much marking to do (not to mention reporting).
Yesterday I went to see my GP to find out what the blood test results were...wow, I totally have baby brain...did I post this news yesterday? If I did, then I'm posting again.
Apparently my b/w from 8w1d (one week ago) showed my HCG levels to be above 309000...which is still really high. My GP wanted to make sure everything was okay and wondered if I was in fact having twins. If you remember, my HCG levels have been very high from the start.
So, today I had my 9wk u/s and it was fabulous. My baby looks like a little teddy bear - i could see the head, the arms and legs and body...the tech even showed me the brain. The heart is beating at 174bpm.
So far everything is looking good. We even told my grandmother today and she was quite positive about the whole thing.
The next hurdle is the 12 week u/s and the b/w at 12wks and 16wks to test for abnormalities. Hopefully everything will continue on along the right path.
It was really nice being with my mom today and really seeing the baby. It looked like my little TB (Teddy Bear) was doing a dance on the screen, and it was just a lot of fun. A nice way to celebrate my mom's birthday.
Okay, off to write report cards.

Stupid Phone Calls....
Last Sunday, I went to my family doctor (who is a new doctor b/c I left my old doctor before starting the TTC process b/c I knew she would never support me or my decision) to tell him I was pregnant and to get the ball rolling on getting an OB for when I'm released from the clinic. My doc was terrific and recommended someone who I wanted to ask him about, and then he told me I needed some blood work done to send to the OB.
Today I got the dreaded call from the doctor's office: "Your blood results are in and the doctor would like to see you."
WTF!!! Can't they say something like, "nothing to worry about, but the doctor wants to review your results"?
My thoughts are that this doctor doesn't know me at all...I've only seen him 4 times:
1) To meet him and have him b/come my doctor and ask for a referral to a fertility clinic.
2) To tell him that it's a 6 month wait for the fertility clinic and to get a referral to my current clinic.
3) To tell him about my foot injury.
4) To tell him that I'm pregnant and that I will need an OB.
So, since he doesn't know me, he doesn't know that I'm Iron deficient. I take Iron supplements every morning, and still my iron is low. I know this b/c even my RE commented that my iron is low. I guess it doesn't help that I decreased my liquid iron when I started the new prenatal vitamins a couple weeks ago, b/c the prenatal vitamins had more iron than my old vitamins and I didn't want to overdo it.
I'm thinking that he is concerned with my iron and b/c he doesn't know me, that's what he wants to share with me.
BUT...what if it's something else? I hate waiting and wondering.
Sunday morning at 10:15 I go to see my doc for the blood test results. Monday afternoon I have my 9 week u/s and hopefully get the all clear that everything is still going fine with my little baby.
Does anyone else panic when symptoms subside for a day? My boobs don't hurt so much today...but the nausea is still there...so does that mean that I'm still pregnant? LOL.

Allergies are killing me
I'm going to keep this post short - mostly b/c I can't focus on anything at all and if I could it would be on getting my marking and report cards done.
My allergies are killing me. I can't breathe, I can't think, I can't even watch television. I always knew I had bad allergies, but modern medicine kept them at bay.
The stupid saline rinse doesn't help at all.
I was fine until my 8:45am duty this morning and that ruined me for the day. How does one person go through so many kleenex in a day?
My mom is going out to Shoppers Drug Mart to get me nasal strips to help me sleep.
I know that Claritin is deemed "safe for pregnancy"...but I don't think it's worth the risk...My allergies are usually finished by July.
But, how in the world will I get through these last few weeks of school - teaching, marking, report cards, and packing up and moving my classroom?
And a really quick note - that I wanted to really spend time on, but I think I've reached my limit here - I told my principal yesterday. I told him at 8 weeks only b/c I'm nervous about moving and lifting heavy things when I've had bleeding.
He was super excited for me and confided some things in me. Told me not to lift a single thing. The kids will be put to work, as will available staff - and he will use my vertigo excuse to any staff as a reason why I need help.
In the meantime, I just want to breathe again - 3 1/2 more weeks of this is way too long (if it even ends in July)....I miss the outdoors...I miss lying in the sun and reading....I miss driving with my windows open.
I shouldn't complain...I'm so happy to be pregnant...I never wanted to feel this miserable!

More calm today...but yesterday...
Yesterday was quite stressful for me. I had my b/w (and all of my levels are fine), but I still had some brown staining...and every time I see it, my heart starts racing.
Although, it makes sense that I was bleeding yesterday after the u/s wand probing around for a while and then my doc examining me...my cervix has been toyed with a lot the last little while.
Today wasn't as bad as the other day...there is still brown, and I guess as long as it's brown and barely there, I shouldn't worry. I'm going to try to take it even more easy than I have been. I've been sitting a lot at work...I've been off exercise since the beginning....anything I can do to make this baby stick...but I still have to get my place unpacked and organized, and I have to move classrooms at work....
One hurdle at a time. In the meantime, my next u/s is only 10 days away tomorrow.

7wk2d u/s
I have to admit I was nervous today leading up to my u/s. Plus, I had to wait for 45 minutes with a full bladder until they finally took me. I peed several times waiting to be taken in - practising my kegels if you will :)
I finally got my full bladder u/s and the tech was silent...I thought something was wrong and I told her I had the brown discharge. She reassured me immediately and said that the baby was fine and she would look for the bleeding on the trans u/s.
My mom came in for the second u/s. My baby has grown since my last u/s (which is great) and is measuring at 7wk6d....I was always the kid at the lowest end of every scale (weight, height)...and my little embryos were all preblastocysts even though they sat for 5 days...but look at my little embryo 4 days ahead of schedule :)
There was bleeding shown in my u/s. My RE tried to explain to me about how as the yolk sac burrows into my uterus, it sometimes causes bleeding - I think like implantation bleeding...and that's what he thinks is happening to me.
Just to be sure, he's doing b/w on me tomorrow morning (the b/w people at the clinic today had gone home - but this means I get to see my regular nurse for the first time at my clinic) and I get to have another u/s in 2 weeks (at 9 wk) instead of waiting until 12 wk....That will reassure me a little.
In the meantime, I need to stay calm and not worry every time I see brown - easier said than done.
Thanks for all of your support.
