9w1d - my little teddy bear

It's been an interesting couple of days. And I need to make this short b/c my report cards are due in 4 days and I have so much marking to do (not to mention reporting).

Yesterday I went to see my GP to find out what the blood test results were...wow, I totally have baby brain...did I post this news yesterday? If I did, then I'm posting again.

Apparently my b/w from 8w1d (one week ago) showed my HCG levels to be above 309000...which is still really high. My GP wanted to make sure everything was okay and wondered if I was in fact having twins. If you remember, my HCG levels have been very high from the start.

So, today I had my 9wk u/s and it was fabulous. My baby looks like a little teddy bear - i could see the head, the arms and legs and body...the tech even showed me the brain. The heart is beating at 174bpm.

So far everything is looking good. We even told my grandmother today and she was quite positive about the whole thing.

The next hurdle is the 12 week u/s and the b/w at 12wks and 16wks to test for abnormalities. Hopefully everything will continue on along the right path.

It was really nice being with my mom today and really seeing the baby. It looked like my little TB (Teddy Bear) was doing a dance on the screen, and it was just a lot of fun. A nice way to celebrate my mom's birthday.

Okay, off to write report cards.

  2. I am so glad the test results were such good news! I hope you told your doctor not to leave such a non-descriptive message in the future!! Congratulations! I can't wait to hear more about your little teddy bear!

(by the way I wish you allowed people to comment with their name and url, I don't really use my wordpress account anymore and don't know how to sign in-profile)
