Thursday, Friday, and now Saturday have been really awful days. Scarlett woke up Thursday morning with a fever of 100.4. I thought it was the reaction - one week later - to the MMR vaccine. But by the afternoon her fever had climbed and she had a cold. On Friday the cold got worse and so did the fever. It was at 102.2 and hard to bring down. Today, Saturday, the fever remained, the cold got worse and now, Saturday night, Scarlett's eyes are gucky and teary. We've already been to the doctor on Friday and Saturday...now I have to take her Sunday too b/c of her eyes?
I AM SUPPOSED TO START WORK IN ONE MORE DAY!!! Putting off daycare is fine, but I can't just not show up on the first day of school....there are no routines in place for me to leave instructions for a supply teacher. But my parents definitely don't want to look after Scarlett when she is this sick...and I don't want to leave her when she is this bad.
I'm exhausted....I haven't had a good night sleep in a week...not since everything went down earlier in the week with thoughts of me extending my leave. And the last few nights Scarlett has woken every hour. I really want to climb into bed but I know I have to start planning something!!!
Oh, no! This is a working parent's worst nightmare. I hope by the time you read this, she is on the mend. If she's not, watch for signs of pneumonia. I was completely blindsided by Henry coming down with it at 11 months.

Oh no...poor Scarlett & poor you! What a place to be in right when you're going back to work. I bet she picked something up at that daycare. Hope you're both doing better.
