Dear J-Bear,
I can't believe that you are already six months. The time is just flying...except at nights, where you have become my co-sleeper from 2:30 onwards each night. I should not say co-sleeper, b/c sleeping is not what you want to do. You want to playing with me, and have milk, and chew on my fingers. And I don't know how I function during the day after being awake with you for hours and hours each night. But I guess I should enjoy this stage....just don't let it last much longer.
I can't help you learn to self soothe while you are sharing a room with your sister...I'm worried that you will wake her up at night...and we all know how much SR loves her sleep!!! She's practically a teenager that way :) It's actually unfair, because tonight you were sleeping and she woke you up...and now you're still awake at 9:04 pm while she sleeps peacefully. At least I have you in the pack and play beside me in the dark while you seem to be settling yourself to sleep (I don't want to speak too soon)...and it's now 9:49 and you are FINALLY ASLEEP in your crib in the room you share with your sister...can I get into the shower now?
In this past month I introduced you to solids. It hasn't been going very well. You are one very talented baby. I should call Tyra Banks at America's Next Top Model because you are really good at "Smizing" (Smiling with your eyes). You can smile, laugh, and cry all while not opening your mouth. Your Suvta (grandmother) originally said that you needed to learn how to open your mouth to eat....but when I give you cauliflower (and sometimes zucchini or sweet potato, or carrot), you certainly know how to eat. What a weird baby you are....you like cauliflower but not banana or apple. I will just keep trying.
Suvta and Zaidy made you chicken mixed with sweet potato and carrots. You're going to have to get your iron from somewhere....and since I don't cook or eat meat they were nice enough to make it for you. We will try it soon.
This month you learned how to roll over. You are also able to sit up on your own, but with me sitting right there so you don't flop backwards. You love books, music, and touching my face. And you love SR!!!! She makes you light up...she wants to be near you all the time, and you enjoy her too...she doesn't like when you get hold of her hair.
This month also saw you through your first double ear infections, first antibiotics, first tylenol and advil, and second trip to the hospital with croup. You got your first tooth in the bottom right...and more are coming through. It's unfortunate that you are teething while recovering from croup...but you have the pinkest cheeks EVER! It's so cute...but I'm sorry you are so miserable!
You have the cutest giggle. You are so curious about everything around you now...and you try to put everything into your mouth. You brighten everyone's day all the time. People everywhere stop to comment on how cute you are, how big your eyes are (your sister got the same compliment too), and how you should be on a football team already.
To me you are my little J-Bear....I hope you feel better soon. Your sister and I love you so much.
Love, Mommy

He looks so much like SR, just a masculine version of her!
ReplyDeleteHappy 6 months, J-Bear!!
ReplyDeleteOh, J-Bear! A tooth at six months--wow! You've experienced so much this past month--aren't you tired? Think about sleeping a few extra hours each night--I know your mom would appreciate it. (But she's right, this time does go by so quickly!)
