Blogging is the priority

I'm pulling out all of my bibs...but don't worry, I always clean up my mess.

Although I have so many things that I really need to do before climbing into bed, I have decided to make blogging my priority tonight.

Scarlett got sick AGAIN Sunday night.  I was also sick Sunday night (completely unrelated).  I guess it was a good thing that I was sick, b/c at 2am I got up and typed supply plans and emailed them to two friends with instructions about where to find certain assignments.  I really can't afford to be away from school.  I have a lot on the go and my evaluation is next week and I need to try to stick to my plan to make sure my lessons that I want taught at the evaluation are ready to go.

Scarlett only seemed to have a cold Monday morning, and I decided that I would take her to daycare and try to get through my school day.  But, as we were bundled up and ready to head out the door, I noticed that familiar goopy guck in the corner of her eye.  Colds and pink eye go hand in hand with Scarlett.  I knew if I dropped her off, they would only call me back to pick her up.

Luckily I had my plans ready to go, but I didn't want to miss my two preps in the afternoon.  My dad said that if I took the morning off, he would watch Scarlett in the afternoon.  It worked out perfectly, and I even got to go to tutoring and bring in a few extra dollars for myself.

By Tuesday I knew Scarlett also had yet another ear infection - when she stops eating and sleeping well, that is her telling me she's in pain.  My parents babysat all day Tuesday (and today, Wednesday, and they will again tomorrow - I should be paying them $1400/month) and then I took her to the doctor.  Sure enough, there is a double ear infection.  Her fourth in 3 months.  I was given a prescription (in a different family of meds to try a new approach) and a referral to a ped ENT.

I just read about the ENT online and she sounds wonderful.  I was freaking out a bit (thanks to Claire for helping me understand tubes a little bit more) about tubes, but according to the reviews the ENT really only does what is absolutely necessary and has a lovely bedside manner (not that Scarlett will notice while she screams that a stranger is looking in her ear).

I'm signing (and saying) "please".

Anyway, I'm off to get ready for bed.  I have a 530 page book to read (Hugo) so I can watch the movie in the near future.

  1. That sucks that Scarlett is sick again. Glad she'll be seeing a good ENT Dr. Hopefully it won't come to tubes but at least if it does, you know she'll be in good hands.

  2. Hope Scarlett is feeling much better! I'm impressed that you are attempting a 530 page book! (I can barely get through Green Eggs and Ham these days!)
