Yesterday at school, my students were in the computer lab typing letters to their pen pals. I was sitting amongst them doing some other work on one of the computers and helping them while making conversation with the group closest to me. My students are 8 and 9 years old.
One of them asked me if I was married. I replied with, "No, my family is a mommy and baby family." I heard one student mutter under his breath "oh, so you don't need...." and then another one interrupted with, "Your house must be very peaceful." I found that hilarious. I wonder what goes on inside his house.

That's so funny, and telling.
ReplyDeleteHahaha, kids are so funny! I've often thought about writing a book from all the funny things I hear them say at school.

ReplyDeleteMy brother when learning the "facts of life" [we are 6 siblings] said about my parents - oh, so they did it six times...
The glimpses we get inside our students' lives are amazing. After mentioning that I don't allow video games to be played in my home, one of my 8th grade boys said, "Oh, I wish I lived with you." Took me by surprise to say the least.
ReplyDeleteLol! I had to share this one with my parents. Gotta love kids that age!
ReplyDeleteVery nice! My nephew told me I was lucky because I'd only ever have to make dinner for myself & Elena & never fuss over a husband, lol!
