I want to blog but who has the time? Plus, J-Bear sleeps in my room usually and I only have a desktop computer...but tonight:
That's right, J-Bear and SR are having a sleepover!!! This is their second sleepover...the first ended at 9:35 at night. Well, it's 10:46 now and he is still sleeping...so why aren't I sleeping?
Here is my quick update with what is going on with me and my kids.
- J-Bear living in my room - that's tough! I come into my room to climb into bed and sleep. And how do I sleep? In a tiny corner of my double bed. I never bother taking the change pad off my bed anymore. Plus I have the nursing pillow (my Brest Friend...it's the best) and two wedges to put under the pillow when I am in bed to make sure J-Bear can reach me properly. I also usually have whatever clothes I wore that day, and maybe the day before, and the day before, and J-Bears clothes from the same amount of days. Because I don't want to make noise putting things away and I'm usually too tired. But tonight my bed is clear of clothes - the nursing pillow and change pad are still there. And so I sleep in the smallest little area of the bed.
- Teeth getting pulled - I don't know if I blogged about my lower right wisdom tooth getting pulled a few weeks after J-Bear was born. I was awake and just used a freezing. It wasn't pleasant seeing everything being done. Anyway, the terrible pain I'd been experiencing before the tooth was pulled never went away. Now it's worse. After seeing specialists and ruling out root canal (so relieved) I'm going to have my remaining three wisdom teeth pulled next Monday (but I'm getting put out for those). Hopefully I'll get to stop living off Advil and the pain will go away. I hope my wisdom remains even though the teeth get pulled :)
- Bibs - I used to see babies in bibs and say to myself, "I will never put my baby in a bib!" That was before I had a drooler and realized that without the bib, I'm constantly changing outfits on the baby. So the lesson learned is never to judge another mom! My baby wears a bib!!!

- New Car??? So my mom needed a new car ages ago! She drives a 97 Toyota...and it's done. Her and my dad test drove cars all summer, but then we got to talking about how she likes my car, and I should get a new car. But I'm on maternity leave this year with very little income. Basically I would either lease for three years and their payments to me should cover my lease, or finance and I'll pick up the payments when I'm working again. I really like the Ford Escape. Everything is still up in the air and it's causing me some stress - especially b/c I LOVE my Ford Focus but could use a little more space with two kids!
- SR throws things - my daughter has a complete vocabulary, including adverbs and adjectives, slang, and expressions. And yet, when she's frustrated, she picks up what ever is closest to her and she throws it. This could get dangerous!
- SR is learning to read - She is my 2 year old sponge....well, nearing 3 now (End of December is her birthday). She knows all of her upper case letters and many of her lower case letters. She can point out words, memorize stories, and she will sound out the first letter of her surroundings - example, as she got out of bed she said, "B-B-Bed starts with B!!!"
- J-Bear and SR have an amazing connection!

I used to get mocked by several family members and friends for always having Isaac in a bib when he was younger. However, he spit up all day long, and his clothes would have been destroyed. Now he is a drooler, and I've given up on the bibs, but he is constantly wet. I've learned to ignore the mockers! Looks like things have been busy but fun!
ReplyDeleteHave you considered a white noise machine to cover the sound of your movements when you come in to bed? It might make it a little easier to get ready for bed with J-Bear in there. It worked for us!
ReplyDeleteLove all the pictures! And I love how smart SR is! Finn has figured out what letters are, and that they spell words, but isn't quite able to identify letters yet. We have an app on my phone that I bet SR would love, if you let her play on your phone. It's called Endless Alphabet - a word is spelled, then little "monsters" come through and scatter the letters. The object is to then put the letters back in place (there's the outline left behind), and as you drag each letter it makes the sound the letter makes. Once the word is spelled, you get a short cartoon of what the word means. Finn loves it!
We have several white noise machines going, plus sounds in the monitors :) mommy can't sleep without white noise either :).
DeleteEndless alphabet is on my phone. SR likes it but has trouble sliding the letters so I have to stay right beside her when she plays.
Great suggestions.
I use to feel the same way about bibs!! They were a must for Elena tho...Hope J continues to do well in SR's room!
ReplyDeleteHooray for SR--what a smart little girl. And her brother? He's gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear about your wisdom teeth--I think that's my nightmare (I STILL have mine!) Hope all is well by this time next week!
Thanks, Lara!
DeleteI love your blog. Your kids are so cute and it gave me so much hope on my own TTC journey. I've just nominated you for a Sunshine Award. If you feel up to it, you can see the details here:
